Disposal Options
Heaters that contain oil or another hazardous fluid that you cannot drain and recycle separately should be brought to the HazWaste Center at the District Transfer Station. Heaters that are at least 80% metal and contain no hazardous fluids can be recycled as scrap metal at the District Transfer Station (metal items larger than one cubic foot or greater than 25 pounds must be separated from the trash per District Ordinance). Heaters that are mostly plastic and contain no hazardous material should be disposed of in your regular household trash.
